Pricing FAQs

Do you charge equity in addition to the monthly fee?

No. We don't take equity. We're paid for our time and expertise, not a slice of your company. A full-time CTO typically demands 0.5%–3% equity on top of salary. We have zero equity requirement.

What's the minimum engagement length?

We ask for a 3-month minimum commitment to ensure we can deliver meaningful value. Most engagements run 6–18 months. There's no long-term lock-in after the initial period — monthly after that.

Do you offer a trial period?

Yes. We offer a 2-week paid trial at $2,500 (credited toward your first month). You'll get one strategy session, an architecture review, and Slack access. If it's not the right fit, you part ways after 2 weeks with no obligation.

What if I need more hours than the engagement includes?

We bill additional hours at $350–$450/hr (depending on the type of work). We always flag when we're approaching the hours boundary so you can decide whether to extend.

Can I add founding engineers to my engagement later?

Yes. Many engagements start with the Strategic Advisory tier and scale up to the CTO + Founding Engineer Pod as the startup grows. We can typically onboard additional engineers within 2 weeks.

How do you compare to hiring a full-time CTO?
